Beachy Head

The dramatic 530 feet high cliffs of Beachy Head give stunning views over Eastbourne and the English Channel. Walks can be taken along the foot of Beachy Head or above on the cliffs for views of the Channel, Eastbourne and the lighthouse. In October each year runners take part in the Beachy Head Marathon over the South Downs.  

Eastbourne Theatres

Eastbourne has several prominent theatres such as The Congress, The Devonshire Park, The Winter Garden. The Sheldon is located just a minutes walk to these theatres where quality performances are scheduled throughout the year such as the St Petersburg Ballet, the Nutcraker, Cinderella and London Philharmoic Orchestra.

Carpet Gardens 

The Carpet Gardens are the centrepiece of Eastbourne's promenade. There are shrubs from across the globe which thrive in Eastbourne's mild climate. The gardens have received awards for the innovative tropical style planting and bedding. They are located near the pier and just a short walk from The Sheldon.

Royal Eastbourne Golf Club - Eastbourne - 0.77 miles

The Royal is a traditional members club situated beside the South Downs. The courses are maintained to a high standard and provide 27 holes of golf. As the courses are built on chalk it is unusual they are closed due to poor weather and non members are welcome.

Seven Sisters Country Park

The Seven Sisters are part of the Heritage Coast, an ‘area of outstanding natural beauty’ which is protected. The area has an interesting history with many shipwrecks whose wreckages can seen from the shore. SSCP is a great place to explore on foot, by bicycle or by canoe.
